The seasons are always a little tricky here in the Bay Area. Just as all of you are saying goodbye to summer, we finally welcome it! So when we headed up to Marshall, CA to shoot our fall collection, we couldn't help but celebrate the beautiful summery weather with a "farewell to summer fête." How better to celebrate the end of one season and kick-off another than to host the perfect picnic?
Here are our tips to create a fabulous gathering of your own:
1. Location, location, location! Picnics are the perfect opportunity to explore the outdoors and soak in some great views. We chose a spot overlooking the unparalleled Northern California coast-line, on a pristine “sunny & 75” kind of day.
2. The Charcuterie Board - A combo of jams and breads to balance the rich taste of meat is a delicious and easy picnic essential! We love a mix of spicy coppa, fig jam, and thin sliced proscuitto.
3. The Cheese Platter - When selecting cheeses, you can never go wrong with variety. Go for a lighter, firmer option, such as a Manchego, as well as a creamier option (oui, Brie!) and you’ll be sure to please the whole group.
4. Decor – Mix and match your favorite linens and pillows to create a laid back and comfortable vibe. A seagrass basket and some flowers from the local farmers market helps to pull the look together, and on a practical level, the basket can hold all your delicious goodies.
